Notes to Man and Woman of the Year Candidates
If your Ski Club has notified you that you have been selected, then you are a candidate and you must fill out the "Candidate's Resume Form" and send it to the Service Awards Chairperson by the deadline.

Contestants are judged on contributions and experiences DURING THE PAST FIVE (5) YEARS ONLY. Submissions will be weighted as follows:
  • Resume is 60% - The resume will be judged on Club/Council/League/FWSA/FWRA/National/Community snow-sports contributions. However, emphasis will be on club, council, and league involvement.
  • Interview is 40% - Each contestant will be asked the same questions and will be scored on what and how they answer. The questions will not be known in advance and will be related to experiences and knowledge gained as a member of their ski club.
     Each candidate should:
  • Be a member of your club for at least one year as of September 1
  • Be an intermediate skier or better
Please note that the recipients of the San Diego Council of Ski Club's Man and Woman of the Year award should be available as its representatives for any future function as deemed necessary. They are expected to attend the Far West Ski Association Convention next spring where they will compete against honorees from other Ski Club councils. If unable to attend, the award recipient will retain the SDCSC title but the runner-up or another honoree will be asked to compete at the FWSA level.
